The Service

Tiptap is a free mobile app that can be downloaded from the App Store (iOs) and Play Store(Android).

The creation and use of the mobile app is free to everyone, the guardian or owner of the digital wallet can make deposits through the mobile app with Visa or MasterCard credit cards, or Visa debit without any cost with a minimum of US $30.00 per deposit. Deposits can be made via Yappy(only in Panama) or bank transfer starting at US $1.00. The student can also make direct deposits to their fingerprint with cash at their cafeteria with a minimum of $1.00.

The option of adding funds in cash at the school will depend on whether the cafeteria allows it (at the discretion of each school).

The guardian can create a maximum of TEN (10) student fingerprints in their digital wallet. All student fingerprints will be activated after the guardian makes a first deposit.

Once the trial period is over and the guardian wishes to keep using the premium version, they will have to pay $12 US (including 7% of ITBMS) for each student. The guardian can choose which student has the premium version and which has the standard version.

The payment of the premium version INCLUDES parental controls such as: assignment of daily consumption limit, consumption details, blocking products or ingredients, among others.

Students with the premium version can also access their account through a special interface just for them.

The guardian can access Tiptap throught he mobile app which can be downloaded in the Apple or Android virtual stores. Students with a premium plan can also access the platform through a special interface just for them.

If the student account is created by the guardian, but it has not been activated with a first transfer, meaning the student hasn’t received a deposit, then it can be used to purchase foods that are sold at prices of US $0. This applies when the student’s cafeteria includes food in their registration and Tiptap is used as a tool for food count.

he annual fee for the premium version will charged from the guardian’s wallet once the THIRTY (30) calendar days have passed and is previously authorized by the guardian. If there is no balance in the guardian’s wallet or they do not wish to make the payment, the guardian will lose all premium benefits and automatically have the standard version.

THE PAYMENT SERVICES OFFERED BY TIPTAP ARE:

Face-to-face payments or biometric payments

Face-to-face payments are those that the student makes in person at the school using their fingerprint as means of payment. For these payments, it is necessary that the student has an active account with funds.

Digital payments

Digital payments are those that the guardian makes from the app for school or academic services that has partnered with Tiptap.

The funds used for these payments are debited from the digital wallet. For these types of payments guardians must create the student’s accounts related to the type of payment (monthly fee, enrollment , among others).

Guardian’s responsibility

The Guardian is fully responsible for the use of the mobile app and the purchases done in the cafeterias.

The Guardian will be responsible for the correct use of the mobile app and for adding and managing students accounts, who are under their responsibility.

TipTap works as a channel/mechanism for charging and receiving payments between the cafeterias and the users, so it is not responsible for the consumption made by each user, nor for what the cafeteria sells.
Tiptap Premium will provide controls to give guardians a peace of mind and trust in the mobile app.

DEPOSITS, WITHDRAWALS, ACCOUNT CLOSURES AND REFUND DEPOSITS

There are three (3) ways to add funds in Tiptap:

  1. Through the mobile app. Using your credit or debit card, the guardian deposits a credit on the mobile app (US $30 minimum). These funds enter  and are reflected in the digital wallet and can be managed by the guardian at their discretion between any of the student accounts under their domain.
  2. In person. The student can make a cash deposit at the cafeteria starting at one dollar (US $1.00). These funds will be reflected directly in the student account that makes the deposit.
  3. By Yappy (only in Panama) or a bank transfer. The guardian will be able to make deposits using the Yappy tool (only in Panama), we appear in the  directory as Tiptap. or via online banking by performing a bank transfer with the following information.

SOLUCIONES BIOMETRICAS
Banco General
Checking Account
03-10-01-140022-4

These deposits take a maximum of 24 hours to be made effective in the digital wallet. From Mondays to Fridays during business hours.

Each time a deposit is made, whether through the app or in person, the guardian will receive an email as a receipt for the transaction.

The mobile app will also send an alert to inform the guardian of requests made  by the student.

For any transaction, whether it is a deposit or top up to the student accounts, the  guardian will be asked for a 4-digit code (created by you) at the time of registration.

Withdrawals, Account Closure and Refunds

When a guardian wants to close the digital wallet, all the balance that it has in its account and the student accounts registered under it will be refunded.

Canceling the account generates a charge of FIVE PERCENT (5%) on the remaining balance in the digital wallet related to the administrative charges  generated by the account holder. Said charge will be deducted from the remaining balance when there fund is made.

A guardian can close one or more of the student accounts under the digital wallet, without cost, and the balance that exists in that student account will be transferred to digital wallet automatically.

The annual fees paid for the premium version made to any account are not refundable.

Premium version loyalty program

Tiptap will offer users/student accounts a loyalty program for their consumption  and for the use of the premium version in the mobile app.

The loyalty program will work based on points that will be granted for consumption in the student’s main cafeteria, always and when Tiptap is used as  a means of payment for the product. For every dollar (US $1.00) consumed by the student, you will receive three (3) points in your loyalty program. Points are  not transferable.

Fractions of twenty five cents do not apply to generate points in the loyalty program.

The prizes available in the loyalty program will be subject to constant change.  All the prizes that are available to redeem in the loyalty program will be limited  to the availability of the same, since there will be a defined inventory of these  and when the availability ends, the prize will cease to exist.

All students with the premium version can participate in the loyalty program  and the points do not expire. In case the digital wallet or the student account is  closed, the collected points will be automatically deleted; these are not transferable. In the event that the student collects enough points to claim a prize,  under the premise that there are prizes available, the guardian must approve the same via the mobile app and we will then coordinate the prize delivery.

The points corresponding to the prizes that were claimed, which were not approved by the guardian, will be returned to the student account.

If a student is using Tiptap Premium, but does not have access to their account in the mobile app, they will also continue to accumulate points in the loyalty program. When the student can access their account through the mobile app, all  points accumulated will be reflected in their account.

Guardian controls with premium version

Tiptap Premium offers the guardian a series of controls on the purchases that the account can make as well as detailed information of those purchases. Each premium wallet can be modified as to accommodate to the need of each registered student.

Daily Spending Limit: The guardian can decide a maximum amount that each child is allowed to consume daily. Once each children reaches their limit, Tiptap  will not allow them to make additional purchases for the rest of the day.

The guardian can always change the limit or even eliminate that limit.  The change in daily limit is automatically reflected both for the student and for the cafeteria.

Food consumption controls: The guardian can block products from the child’s  main cafeteria. The guardians can unblock them at any time.

Allergies: The guardian can block ingredients or products for each child if they  have any allergies or intolerances. Tiptap will block products containing these ingredients. Guardians can unblock them at any time.

It is the responsibility of the cafeteria to call out the ingredients of each product so that the allergy block can be functional.

Consumption Details: The guardian can review the last 15 transactions made by each child in both versions (Standard and Premium). In the premium version, the guardian can  see in detail what they have consumed.

Guardians will see in detail what each child is consuming in their main cafeteria. They will only see the monetary value of the products they are buying in other cafeterias.

Fund Requests: from the student app, children can request additional funds  to their guardian. The guardian will be able to accept or decline the request. If they accept, funds  will be transferred to the child’s fingerprint.

Authorized Cafeterias: all students will automatically be allowed to buy in their main cafeteria. Guardians must select the other cafeterias their children are allowed to buy in.

Loyalty Program Awards Authorization: All prizes from the loyalty program can be claimed by the children once they accumulate the amount of points necessary. The student then requests the prize and the guardian has to approve or deny the request in order for the prize to be delivered to the student.

Low Balance (ALERTS): The guardian will receive notifications through the mobile application about the low balances in the student accounts registered under their digital wallets.

A “low balance” means a balance of less than US $2.00.

Fingerprint: Every guardian authorizes TipTap to capture the fingerprints of their children,  which will only be used to make purchases. It will never be shared and will remain encrypted.

For more information consult our Privacy Policy

Tiptap will use high standards of confidentiality to safeguard these fingerprints supported by executive decree 285 of May 28, 2021, in which Law 81 of Personal Data Protection was regulated, which established principles, rights, obligations, and procedures to regulate  the protection of personal data in Panama.

The Guardian must create the student account and all fingerprints will be captured in the student’s main cafeteria. The student must provide their document number with which they were registered in the app to capture their fingerprint.
